  • What makes a word a real word?

    It is when it becomes a part of the zeitgeist? Is it when the word is added to a dictionary? Is it when Google stops asking you if you meant something else when you search that word? Is Google the new dictionary?

    For example:

    June 22 2006:
    Did you mean tourist?

    July 06 2006:
    A real word already?

    Is Scourist a word now? Me thinks yes!
