Here are my Burning Man 2016 Photos!

This is my annual gift to the Burning Man community.

All of my Burning Man images are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial license. That just means if you share them you must attribute the photographs to me by name and link to Duncan.co Also that you can’t sell them.

The more time you spend at Burning Man the more you realize a fulfilling Burn is one where you just work your ass off for other Burners. That was the case here. I spent my burn making these photographs for you. I do this for the Burning Man community so this is a very loose edit. I shot just under 11000 photos this year.

If you know the name of a piece of art or have a better caption please comment at the very bottom of this post or email me and I’ll update it.

#259 I approached these women from the front on my bike. I said “Hey can I take your picture!” like I always do. One of them said “ok!”. I dismounted my bike and they literally just walked away completely ignoring me. I biked back over to them and said “You know, that was really disrespectful. Have a happy burn!” Not a good feeling when you’re out working hard to make photographs for other burners… Just wow.

Only problem was the vibrations from the incredibly loud music / bass made it impossible to get a perfect image. Look at the rings and you can see how much everything was vibrating here. I had all my weight leaning on the tripod to dampen the vibration to not avail. Always fun to try and figure it out though!)

Even better to find out he’s a really great guy. After Scott and I met up we bumped into each other at different locations on the playa at least 7 times totally randomly. One time our paths literally crossed on bikes in motion. I’ve never had that happen with anyone else out there. Every time I ran into Scott he was hustling make his great images. i know at least one of the people you don’t have labeled. closer to the top, you have one of a man in a hat that you said was a nice guy you talked to in center camp. his name is Ira, and i know his playa name is Tubaluba. he’s from Camp AHHEEEEEE! (possibly misspelled)

you also have a photo up closed to the top of man with a blue mohawk (shaved sided) wearing a green bandana around his neck. he’s from the Elvis Wedding Chapel camp (he’s the Elvis-styled Minister), but i can’t recall his name right now. if i find/remember it i’ll get back to you.

also, the people who ran the great chinese dragon/foo dog art car (blue & pink car) were right down the street from us. lovely people. i’ll try to find the name of their camp and car and get it to you as well.

In 2016 I lost my virgin status and I loved every second of it. I also love your incredibly huge gallery, it reminds me of that time in the playa unlike others I have seen.
A lot happened during that week last year, and nostalgia is overwhelming, but I am glad that, even if I can get somewhat emotional while looking at your pictures, I can have a slice of the past and be transported again to DaVinci’s workshop.

A friend asked what Burning Man was and, to explain my experience, I wrote him a lengthy PDF that included many pictures. I used some of yours for that and placed a link to your gallery. It should give occupy him for a long time. Thank you for posting this and allowing me to travel back and take my friends with me.
