   Looks like a nice codec, but Xvid looks pretty nice at Hi-def resolutions too:

   Plus, Xvid is an open format :)

   does it do as well in terms of filesize and bitrate?

   Looks like h.264 requires intense cpu power too

   Size is pretty similar. Not sure about bitrate.

   h264 is open, and it will be used in HD DVD and Blu-Ray
   not your xvid
