Apple + Google Cloud Computing?

Fred Vogelstein writes:

I don’t typically join the gaggle of folks trying to guess what Steve Jobs’ next move is going to be, but for once I can’t resist. On Monday Jobs is taking the stage at Apple’s worldwide developers conference in San Francisco to do what he does best – tell us all about Apple’s latest products and reinforce his place as the most charismatic CEO on the planet. He’ll probably announced a new Ipod, tell us more about the iPhone etc etc. One announcement I’m almost sure of, however : A far reaching, cloud computing partnership with Google. Both companies have been hinting about it for months, and it makes perfect sense.

Apple should kill .mac and bundle it as a Google cloud storage system.

Engadget Post Drops Apple Market Cap by $4 Billion in 6 Minutes

Engadget posted some information about a supposed delay of Apple’s iPhone and almost immediately the floor fell out on Apple’s stock. Massive selling took the stock from $107.89 to $103.42 in six minutes. That means roughly $4 billion in market cap was erased in a few minutes from a single paragraph of a blog post! Of course it was quickly fixed and the stock bounced right back. I just thought it was interesting to see how quickly this kind of thing can happen.

First Full Feature Film I’ve Purchased and Downloaded Online

In Search of Sillicon Valley Film

I just realized In Search of the Valley was the first feature film I’ve ever purchased online. I bought it because the subject matter was of interest to me and the film is DRM free!! Instead of using DRM they create a unique video file on a user by user basis. In other words they put your name in the video file itself so that if it gets shared they can track it. I’ll let you know if the film is any good when I get a chance to watch it.
