First Full Feature Film I’ve Purchased and Downloaded Online
I just realized In Search of the Valley was the first feature film I’ve ever purchased online. I bought it because the subject matter was of interest to me and the film is DRM free!! Instead of using DRM they create a unique video file on a user by user basis. In other words they put your name in the video file itself so that if it gets shared they can track it. I’ll let you know if the film is any good when I get a chance to watch it.

Community in the 21st century
We are moving to a world in which in the twenty-first century the most important activities that produce occur not in factories, and not by individual initiative, but in communities held together by software.
Eben Moglen (professor of law and general counsel for the Free Software Foundation) gave an interesting speech at the Plone conference. Plone is an open source content management system like Drupal… The talk addresses free software and community in the 21st century. (It runs 65 minutes with a transcript here)
