    World Changing Book

    This is probably the most interesting book I’ve purchased in a long time. It’s a massive compendium of ideas and tools for making the world a better place. But don’t listen to me, listen to the rumours on the inkernets about it. Or ask the google about it. You know the drill.

    The publishers of this book ‘hacked’ amazon’s best seller list by having people purchase the book on amazon at exactly the same time. The book shot up to #13 on the best seller list in one day.

    Asking Apple Go Green

    Greenpeace: We love Apple. Apple knows more about “clean” design than anybody, right? So why do Macs, iPods, iBooks and the rest of their product range contain hazardous substances that other companies have abandoned? A cutting edge company shouldn’t be cutting lives short by exposing children in China and India to dangerous chemicals. That’s why we Apple fans need to demand a new, cool product: a greener Apple.

  • Going Green, a meme worth spreading

    If you haven’t already noticed there is a huge push going on right now from the green movement and I’m all over it like a fat kid on a smartie.

    Inconvienient Truth
    Al Gore’s new film An Inconvinient Truth is out. (trailer)

    An Inconvenient Truth eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Al Gore’s personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change. A longtime advocate for the environment, Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way. The film is not a story of despair but rather a rallying cry.

    Who Killed the Electric Car?
    Another film called Who Killed the Electric Car is out as well. (trailer)

    It was among the fastest, most efficient production cars ever built. It ran on electricity, produced no emissions and catapulted American technology to the forefront of the automotive industry. The lucky few who drove it never wanted to give it up. So why did General Motors crush its fleet of EV1 electric vehicles in the Arizona desert?

    PBS just aired a series called Design E2. (trailer)

    design:e2 (the economies of being environmentally conscious) is an original six-part series that explores the vitality of the environment through eco-friendly architecture. Narrated by Brad Pitt and masterfully shot in high-definition, the series introduces us to the inventive leaders and technologies driving sustainable practices worldwide in the design of buildings where we live, work, and play.
