Some interesting effects in this music video by "The Chalets". I’ve never heard of this band and I don’t know anything about them but somehow their video showed up in FireAnt.

I know this is old but…
I still think it’s clever. This is the most sophisticated form of begging I’ve ever seen.

New Video Blog
I finally spent some time putting together a little video from the clips I’ve shot on my tiny little camera. I dumped all the clips from my camera in a totally random order onto a timeline. Then I made a few edits and voila. I love doing stuff like this. Please enjoy my Summer 2005 Video Blog. ( ~35 MB .mov )
The music is from the Cafe Del Mar CD called Aria3. The song is called Amami.
Enjoy.

mountain biking video
A while back a friend of mine introduced me to one of the filmmakers behind the 16 mm mountain bike film The Collective. I’ve been told this is one of the best mountain biking films ever made. See for yourself, check out the trailer for the film. (13.2 MB video .mov)

Rent or buy the Primer DVD
I watched Primer last night and I highly recommend it. When was the last time you saw a feature length film that was made for $7000 and actually enjoyed it? Probably never. As a person whose made some short films I know just how difficult filmmaking can be and this film is nothing short of a huge success. All I have to say is mad props to Shane Carruth "who spent three years teaching himself filmmaking, conceived, wrote, directed, edited, and scored PRIMER and also plays one of the lead roles." Did you like Memento? Want to actually have to think to figure out a movie for a change? Enough word of mouthing from me…
Read the story of how the film was made. Watch the trailer. Buy the DVD. In that order mofos.

Lookin for a good cause?
Drop some cash here: BLOGUMENTARY Debt Relief. Chuck is making the official blog documentary (Blogumentary) and he could use a little micropayment financing. Send him a couple of bucks instead of buying that fancy coffee. Well worth it.

Films to cure the Bush Blues
My girlfriend won 4 tickets to see an advanced screening of The Polar Express and it was awesome. It was such a solid piece of entertainment. It’s the kind of film that makes you feel like a kid. After the show we we’re all in the rainy-Saturday-afternoon movie-going depressed-about-the-next-four-years-mood so we went to see The Incredibles. Now that is an amazing film! I’m always blown away by the creativity behind these films. Beyond the technical wizardry and the beauty of the image, its the pure child-like creative genius of the people that come up the ideas that gets me every time. Well worth paying the 10 bucks or whatever you pay wherever you are… Check out what Jason has to say about it.
