mountain biking video
A while back a friend of mine introduced me to one of the filmmakers behind the 16 mm mountain bike film The Collective. I’ve been told this is one of the best mountain biking films ever made. See for yourself, check out the trailer for the film. (13.2 MB video .mov)

Sony DSC-T7
My dad picked up a brand new Sony Cybershot DSC-T7 camera and this thing rules. It takes 5 megapixel images and shoots video at 30 frames per second at 640 by 480. With a 1 gig memory stick duo you can take like 30 minutes of video at 15 fps and like 13 minutes at 30 fps. Oh, and it’s puny. I’m trying to steal it from my dad. ;)

Here is an example of a video at 30 fps 640 by 480. 26 MB File.STILLS

The Old Man, the Mountain and the Sea
Its inspiring to read about truly fascinating people like this. He’s been hand building a 80 foot, 50 ton sailboat for over 15 years on the top of a mountain. He’s sick of George W. Bush and the U.S., and he’s moving to Cuba. Old dudes like this guy rock.

“I’m finning hard along the shallow sandy bottom of bathtub-warm Pemuteran Bay in northwest Bali, trying to keep up with Naryana as he tracks the cable to the first structure. He’s taking me on an underwater scuba tour of a unique coral-regeneration project. A truck-sized triangular metal frame appears through the bright cloudy water. On it are dozens of colonies of hard coral neatly arranged like hanging flower baskets. Colourful clouds of orange and purple damselfish dart in and out of the corals.”
