The CIA is just guessing
PRESIDENT BUSH: The CIA laid out a — several scenarios that said, life could be lousy, like could be okay, life could be better. And they were just guessing as to what the conditions might be like. The Iraqi citizens are defying the pessimistic predictions. The Iraqi citizens are headed toward free elections. This government has been in place for a little over two months, and the Iraqi citizens are seeing a determined effort by responsible citizens to lead to a more hopeful tomorrow. And I am optimistic we’ll succeed.
AM I LOSING MY FUCKING MIND??? THE CIA IS GUESSING??? IMAGINE THAT!
UPDATE: Sept 23
PRESIDENT BUSH: Yes.
Q And I like to, if you don’t mind, follow on something the Prime Minister just said. If General Abizaid says he needs more troops and the Prime Minister says he does not want more troops, who wins?
PRESIDENT BUSH: Let me talk to General Abizaid. As I said, he just came in to see me, and I want to make sure — I’m not suggesting any of the reporters here might be taking something out of context — that would never happen in America. But, nevertheless, I do want to sit down and talk to him about it. Obviously, we can work this out. It’s in the — if our commanders on the ground feels it’s in the interest of the Iraq citizens to provide more troops, we’ll talk about it. That’s — that’s why — they’re friends; that’s what we do about friends.
First part of the question — oh, yes, yes —
Q They say you’ve been opportunistic —
PRESIDENT BUSH: Yes, got it. Listen, the other day I was asked about the NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE ESTIMATE, which is a National Intelligence Estimate. This is a report that talks about possibilities about what can happen in Iraq, not probabilities. I used an unfortunate word, “guess.” I should have used, “estimate.”

Political polls are absolute bullshit
These polls are only being conducted with people who have LAND LINE PHONES. Yes, thats right. Who the hell uses land lines nowadays???? 169 million Americans have cell phones and there is absolutely no way to poll someone with a CELL PHONE. Thats pretty shocking. Read the article. Oh, and read Zogby’s latest poll information. Kerry, Bush in dead heat, Sept 21.

Sky Captain and other random stuff
I saw Sky Captain this weekend and I still can’t decide whether I liked it or not. There is no doubt the film is a technical masterpiece, but its like who cares? I read the Cinefex article about how the film was created so I know just how difficult it was to make but it just fell flat for me. Actually now that I think about it the ending was pretty lame. Their site is worthwhile, although it’s flash and it has loud annoying music.
For all you closet dopesmokas: You can get your pot in the mail! I heard about this in the “mainstream news” so its probably too late now but I still think its funny.
Yet another reason to own a Mac: “More than 30,000 PCs per day are being recruited into secret networks that spread spam and viruses, a study shows. Six months ago only 2,000 Windows machines per day were being recruited into these so-called bot nets.” (BBC)
Is that a petabyte in your pocket or … blah blah so played out, I know.

Looking forward to seeing Baghdad Blogger at the VIFF.

Garden State
I know you don’t give a shit about what I think but for what its worth let me put my two cents in…
Go see Garden State.
I had heard nothing about it and had no clue what it was about when I went to see it but I can tell you its worth it. Not only does the writer director Zach Braff have a blog but the soundtrack kicks ass… Oh and the movie is good too.
No need to post some long winded BS review when there are far better sites that do that. All I need to say is that its a film about the life I’m not living right now by posting here. Yes. That is all.
