Green and pink curtains of light arc across the night sky above a calm lake, their colors reflected in the still water below. A wooden dock extends into the frame from the left, anchoring the composition, while distant shoreline lights mark the far bank. Stars fill the gaps between the shifting bands of color. The photograph records a rare intensity of aurora borealis at mid-latitudes, a brief atmospheric event that drew observers across the province to their nearest dark-sky vantage points.
