Glass Canyon Riverbed

Glass Canyon Riverbed

Duncan Rawlinson created this image using artificial intelligence, translating the idea of a glass canyon into a sweeping abstract form. Fine translucent filaments flow across a black field like layered veils of light, reading at once as canyon strata and as pure gesture. The color shifts from cool sapphire and steel blue on the left through soft coral, rose, and warm amber on the right, as if a riverbed had been dissolved into ribbons and set adrift. Crystalline speckles scatter along the ridges, catching the light where the surfaces fold and overlap. The composition runs wide and low, its currents carrying the eye from one bank of color to the other. The piece sits within a body of work that explores the visual language of landscape through computational tools.
