• Canyon of Glowing Crystals

    Canyon of Glowing Crystals

Duncan Rawlinson created this image using artificial intelligence to construct a canyon filled with glowing, multicolored crystal structures. The formations rise from textured ground in violet, blue, pink, green, and gold, connected by thin strands of light that reflect on the surface below. The sky shifts through soft pastels that match the colors on the ground. This AI-generated artwork builds an invented geology where crystalline forms and colored light follow imagined physical rules. The wide horizontal composition emphasizes the scale of the canyon and the distribution of color across its expanse.

  • Neural Web in Motion

    Neural Web in Motion

Duncan Rawlinson created this AI-generated image using computational techniques and visual design. A sprawling network of translucent cables and spherical nodes fills the frame, each strand carrying pulses of magenta, cyan, and lime. The crystalline nodes contain shifting clouds of color, suggesting data or energy in flux. The entire structure floats weightlessly against a dark background, cables curving and bending as though responding to unseen forces. The composition suggests a living systemβ€”a neural map or data infrastructure made visible. The colors are electric and saturated, creating contrast against the black background.

  • Constructed Flowers with Internal Light

    Constructed Flowers with Internal Light

Duncan Rawlinson created this AI-generated artwork that reimagines botanical forms as rigid, fabricated structures. Hard acrylic petals radiate from glowing cores, each flower lit internally with warm orange or deep red. The constructed blossoms stand against a textured gray wall, with a lattice screen on the left providing architectural framing. Painted shadows ground the composition. This digital work combines plant geometry with industrial materials, presenting flowers as manufactured objects rather than living organisms. The internal illumination emphasizes the sharp-edged, fin-like petal construction, while the muted background allows the warm tones to command attention.

  • 50 Original Kaomoji for Everyday Life and Actions (Copy and Paste)

After designing 50 original kaomoji for human emotions, the obvious next question was what people actually paste into chats every day. The answer is not feelings, it is actions and situations: on my way, running late, stuck in a meeting, making coffee, walking the dog. So this second set of 50 brand new kaomoji covers everyday life, the routines, errands, and little social rituals that fill most of our messages. Same rules as before: no recycled faces from the decade-old lists, and every face is built to act out its meaning using Unicode characters that traditional kaomoji rarely touch. The coffee drinker holds a steaming mug, the driver grips a wheel, the laundry face stands next to a spinning drum, and the person running late is sprinting away from a clock. All 50 are below, free to copy and paste anywhere you like.

  • Winter Orchard, Browns Bay

    Winter Orchard, Browns Bay

Duncan Rawlinson photographed this winter scene near Browns Bay, Ontario, close to Brockville. Bare deciduous trees stand in measured rows across a snow-covered field, their branches weighted with ice under dense fog. A low fence cuts horizontally through the foreground, grounding the composition. The overcast sky blends into the mist, reducing color to soft grays and whites. Diffused light flattens contrast and eliminates shadows, emphasizing the cold, motionless air of the rural Ontario orchard. The image records the spare geometry and subdued atmosphere of a January morning in the Thousand Islands region.

  • Weathered Barn in Winter

    Weathered Barn in Winter

Duncan Rawlinson photographed this rural barn in winter, when snow covered the fields of the 1000 Islands region in Ontario, Canada. The corrugated metal siding on the peaked gable end shows decades of rust bleeding through faded orange paint, while the white lower walls reveal peeling surfaces from years of weather exposure. A small flock of birds passes overhead in the pale winter sky, adding scale and movement to the still scene. The rust orange, white, and soft gray tones form a study in agricultural architecture shaped by time and the elements. This fine art photograph documents the persistence of rural structures through seasonal change.

  • Frozen Saint Lawrence at Dusk

    Frozen Saint Lawrence at Dusk

Duncan Rawlinson photographed this winter view of the frozen Saint Lawrence River near Browns Bay, Ontario, Canada. A single brown object rests on a sculpted snowdrift in the foreground, providing a natural anchor against the smooth white ice. The treeline to the left marks the shore, while the distant opposite bank stretches across beneath a gradient sky that shifts from pale pink to cool blue. The light is soft and diffused, typical of late afternoon in the depths of a Canadian winter. Horizontal bands of snow, trees, and sky create a simple, layered composition.

  • Mist Over Cape Headlands

    Mist Over Cape Headlands

Duncan Rawlinson photographed this scene from an elevated position above a bay near the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town. Mist drifts across the water and softens the succession of headlands as they recede into the distance. Low morning light illuminates the wet sand and intertidal zone below, while darker cliffs frame the curving shoreline. Cool shadow tones in the foreground ridges transition to warmer tones where sunlight meets the ocean surface. This photograph documents a morning along South Africa’s rugged coastline, where weather, topography, and light intersect. The elevated vantage reveals the scale of the bay and the relationship between land and sea.

  • Smugglers Cove in Winter

    Smugglers Cove in Winter

Duncan Rawlinson photographed this winter scene at Smugglers Cove in Ivy Lea, Ontario, Canada. Fresh snow covers the shoreline and clings to the branches of deciduous trees in the foreground, while dark evergreens rise behind them. Ice plates float in the open water near the shore, their edges defined against the dark surface. Stones rest on the frozen shallows, and the overcast light softens the contrast between snow, ice, and forest. The composition leads from the detailed ice formations in the lower frame through the still water to the wooded backdrop. This photograph documents a sheltered cove during winter, where ice and snow alter the familiar shoreline into a study in texture and muted color.

  • Canyonlands Plateau Terraces

    Canyonlands Plateau Terraces

Duncan Rawlinson photographed these stepped sandstone plateaus in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. Black-and-white rendering brings out the texture of wind-carved rock surfaces and the tonal progression as each terrace recedes into haze. A piece of driftwood anchors the foreground, providing scale against the eroded mesas that stretch toward distant cliffs. Deep shadows gather in the crevices between formations, while diffused light softens the farthest ridges. The monochrome treatment emphasizes the structure of the geology and the sense of depth across the high-desert terrain. This photograph captures the scale and weathered character of the Colorado Plateau.
