Become Big Brother
The tower at the the S/U station has an odd glass cube on the top and
the artists decided to give it eyes. The passersby could participate by
looking inside the box. Their eyes were then projected onto the
glass–front of the tower, making it look like the head of a robot with
ever changing and personalized eyes. The project was an attempt to make ‘street–art that anybody can influence and use playfully.’

iTunes Movie Store
There seems to be quite a bit of chatter in my Bloglines feeds and on the weeb this morning about on demand video from Apple. iTunes 4.8 just came out and all the geeks (including yours truly) are excited that it supports video. I mean this is "the year of high definition video" right!? It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Citizen Photo Journalism
I saw a bunch of Police cars and ambulances outside my window yesterday and I couldn’t quite see what they we’re doing. All I could see was that they had shut off the streets in all directions so I knew it must have been something pretty serious. I went about my day and only remembered the sirens and the Police this morning. So, on a whim I decided to see if I could find images on Flickr of the incident. Low and behold I found a set of great photographs. Apparently some old lady lost control and drove her vehicle into my local 7-Eleven. It’s interesting that I can look up photos tagged with Vancouver and find high quality images of a local event/incident taken by some random guy. Flickr is awesome, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this whole citzen media thing.

A Blog Revolution? Get a Grip.
DON’T ask Nick Denton, publisher of Gawker Media and its growing list
of popular Web logs, about his empire. "People come up to me as if it’s
witty and say, ‘How is the empire going?’ " Mr. Denton said, "which is
pretty pathetic."Worth reading if you’re a blog nerd… [via]
