The gilrfriend
I guess she’s too shy to post comments. Maybe if I embarrass her she’ll post a comment now and then. (Evil laugh)
Yesterday I asked her why she doesn’t comment and she’s like "cause everybody I know looks at the site."
So I’m like who cares?
And she says she doesn’t want to say anything stupid.
And then I tell her about how I say stupid things everyday and I don’t care.
She goes I don’t want to be pressured into commenting.
I’m like its no big deal I just want to see what you think about all the crap I rant about.
She loses interest and goes back to watching her soap opera that I recorded for her on the PVR.
I can’t compete with these soaps man.

Dumsfeld
Soldier to Rumsfeld: "Why do we soldiers have to dig through local landfills for pieces of scrap metal and compromised ballistic glass
to uparmour our vehicles?" Army Spc Thomas Wilson asked."Soldier to Rumsfeld: "We do not have proper armored vehicles to carry with us north,"
Rumsfeld to Soldiers: "You can have all the armor in the world on a tank and it can (still) be blown up,”
Easy for you to say Rummy when you don’t have bullets whizzing by your face.

Wannabe Canadians
There is a company trying to cash in Anti American sentiment abroad by selling Canadian flag t-shirts to Americans. This bothers me for many reasons. Taking advantage of what it means to be Canadian so as to avoid being an American is quite insulting to me. It’s one thing to wear one of these shirts, but it’s another to buy a Canadian flag shirt/patch/badge from an American outfit to be a poser Canadian.
As a Canadian, I take pride in the fact that our flag/passport travels well. In fact when I traveled throughout western Europe I put a Canadian flag on my pack. Lots of other Canadians came up to me in train stations and hostels to chat etc. I met some great people by doing this. Next time I go to Europe will I be seen as an American poser trying to look like a Canadian? Or even worse will fellow Canadian travelers see me and think, faker? Do we actually have to start carrying around our plastic Timmy Ho‘s mugs to prove authenticity like the commercial?
It scares me that people would openly admit they’d have to "study up" to know who our prime minister is. WE ARE YOUR NEIGHBORS!!!! HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW?
I love how its like such a hardship to talk politics for these people. Heaven forbid you have to talk about your government and how they’ve been killing lots of folks.
I just went to the SorryEverybody website and now they’re selling a book about it! I guess its just the American way. Sell anything and everything if you can make a quick buck. Sorry for these sweeping generalizations but I can’t help but be a little weirded out by this stuff. (look at me being a nice Canadian isn’t that cute)
Why should I care? After all, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Girlfriend: "Why did you write V to the P to tha L on your blog?"
Me: "Because its funny."
Girlfriend: "No its not, it’s stupid. What if someone thinks your serious with your pseudo gangster speak?"
Me: "That’s when it gets funny."
Girlfriend: "You’re such a loser."
Me: "Yes, yes I am."Long lost links of note:

Seven years ago today: "On Canada Appreciation Day we look to the north, and thank the better half of North America for putting up with our self-centered approach for so long. We ask them how we could do better. And we listen! We try to imagine what life would be like without Canada, and be glad that we don’t have to find out."
Why thank you blogfather.

The V to the P to tha L
I’ve been hanging out at the Vancouver Public Library for the last few days doing some re to the search. I’ve been living in Vancouver for a while and I think I’ve really taken that place for granted. It’s probably the best library I’ve ever been to. The ratio of connected computers to people is amazing. Not to mention the architecture and the books man the books! The VPL is sick. Nuff said.I requested a book online yesterday and it was on the shelf inside the door waiting for me today. All for free.
Image poached from here.
On another note, I’ve put the Rockin section back up. You can see what i’m rockin out to these days. (Lower left)
Postscript: I DON’T HAVE ANY GMAIL INVITES LEFT! STOP COMMENTING AHHH…
