  • Subservient President – George W Bush

“The subservientpresidentSubservient President a parody of Burger King’s Subservient Chicken advertising campaign with a political twist. Instead of a guy in a chicken suit who will hop or do push-ups on command, The Subservient President reminds us that the current guy in the president suit will do whatever the oil industry or the gun lobby tells him.”

This thing isn’t as fun as the subservient chicken.

So far I have only gotten responses from saying this stuff:

    -tell me a secret
    -choke on a pretzel
-can i see your foreign policy
    -are you a terrorist?

  • John Kerry – The Next President of the United States

THE_NEXT_PRESIDENTJohn Kerry’s speech last night was moving, inspirational, and suprisingly hawkish. He pretty much took the entire Bush administration to task on every mistake they’ve made. He seemed understandably nervous for the first minute of his speech, but he became comfortable very quickly.

Aside from all the rhetoric I think the most amazing part was that I actually felt something. I can’t remember the last time I felt an emotion apart from anger, frustration, embarrassment, and disapointment when hearing a politician speak!

    Favorite Quotes from the speech:

“I will bring back this nation’s time-honored tradition: The United States of America never goes to war because we want to. We only go to war because we have to,”

“Strength is more than tough words,”

“We need to be looked up to and not just feared. The future doesn’t belong to fear; it belongs to freedom.”

“I know there are those who criticize me for seeing complexities — and I do — because some issues just aren’t all that simple. Saying there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq doesn’t make it so. Saying we can fight a war on the cheap doesn’t make it so. And proclaiming mission accomplished certainly doesn’t make it so.”

“I will be a commander-in-chief who will never mislead us into war. I will have a vice-president who will not conduct secret meetings with polluters to rewrite our environmental laws . . . and I will appoint an attorney-general who actually upholds the constitution of the United States.”

You can read the entire speech here.

But enough of the serious business!

  • My sister’s wedding

My latest trip to California was amazing. I flew down to attend my sister’s wedding and the whole trip was amazing.

Even if the waves were small, the surfing was super fun. Small waves are very easy to learn on… The BBQs were great and the parties were awesome. The wedding ceremony/reception/beach party was absolutely incredible. One of the guests mentioned that she had been to weddings for royalty in Sweden and that this wedding was even more magnificent. This was not just some flippant remark either; this came from the wife of a VERY famous musician who will remain nameless here.

  • On vacation

I’m in California, hence the lack of frequent updates… Surfing is more fun than blogging.
