Letting Go

This softly layered mountain vista was created by Duncan Rawlinson. Rolling ridgelines fade into one another through washes of indigo, rose, and peach, each range a little more lost than the last. There is an ache in how easily one layer dissolves into the next, the way something beautiful can slip away while you are still watching it. Faint lights dot the valley floor like a village drifting to sleep, and the sky holds that fleeting warmth that only shows up when the day finally lets go. It feels like the quiet after you stop holding on.
